Emigration hill climb tonight...good ride but a horrible time.  Really need to lose some weight to be more competitive in cycling.

Ugh...waited until the heat of the day 80 degrees.  Just a short loop, wasn't too bad at first but then it felt verrry hot.  

Feel sorry for those poor suckers out running 50 miles @ Squaw peak in this!

Long run this am - had a little extra time before work.  Really dogged it last week and was a little surprised at how sore my calves were. 

Got out on the bike after work.  Massive southerly wind, have always wanted to ride south on the Camp Williams road with a good tailwind and today was the day.  So much more fun until  you have to turn & go back.  Most brutal headwind in my face for the whole climb up Suncrest.  Almost not worth the fun coming out.

Possibly slowest time ever on Fort Rockwell loop.  Ran after work and just wanted to take it super easy as my right calf is really bothering me now and I need it to go away in just 2 days.

Race take-aways:

Pleased to see time 3 mins quicker than Ogden - moving in the right direction at least, but still a good 7 minutes off of PR time

1:31, 1:35 1st half, 2nd half split better than 1:30, 1:40 @ Ogden but still not negative splits.

Running in the rain is not as much fun as it sounds

Course is more "rolly" through 13-14 miles than "straight down"

Managed to choke down 3 gels throughout the race - rarely do gu/gel in races - maybe do more often

Course measured .11 long for me

Seems like lots of fast runners showed up this year - including speedy women

Head wasn't really in the game until about 8 miles...was feeling good and decided to not make it a throw away race

Provo Canyon was quite beautiful to run down

Saw several pairs of Brooks Launch shoes

Only broke stride once during entire race to have a short #1 break

Marathons are still hard

Ended up running Ragnar at the last minute...but only 2 of 3 legs due to conflict.  This was last leg of Van 1's 2nd leg going from Morgan up to East Canyon.  Averaged about 7:16's I think.  I thought the leg was harder than I was expecting.  Sometimes those elevation profiles are deceiving but this one just rolled up & rolled up some more.  Good run though.

2nd Ragnar run - short 3 miles through Heber.  Had 2 big hills right in the middle of the 2nd mile I think my time was 21:xx but I know my last mile was 6:02 - at least there was one quick on in there.

Beautiful run in SG.  Started in the middle of the Dammron Valley on the SG Marathon course.  Ran it in to Snow Canyon then turned down the Canyon & came in to SG on the Snow Canyon Parkway until heading South again down to Green Valley.  Managed to avoid the heat of the day, was a great run.
