| Truly a beautiful run today. Can't think of a better way to start the new year. Ran a 7 miler from the house up and around the temple. Was a little chilly but beautiful otherwise, super sunny and clear with no inversion. I actually stopped at the top of Rambling Rd. on my way back down just to take in the view from up there. You could see the entire valley covered in snow. A good day. | Add Comment |

| Evening run while C was @ TKD in new shoes. Concerned about the width as I stepped on my neuroma a few times. Hopefully this won't last as the shoes get more broken in. |

| Same thing as Tues. Running in the snow really isn't as much fun as it sounds. |

| In stark contrast to last Saturday's run, today was quite cold and dreadful and not even a peek out at the sun. Ran 3 loops from Draper park around Fort St. & 13th E then one Draper 5k loop in reverse. Was really quite dragging on the last loop, seemed to get colder as I went. The loop format really wasn't too bad though. I'm sure I'll be doing more of this in the cold weather. 8:05 avg (blame last loop) 149/164 avg/max HR. | Add Comment |

2 runs today - morning run up to Shoreline trail then abbreviated bridge loop. Seems like every day involves a new version of the old reliable bridge loop. Then lunchtime run at work. Temps just right, maybe 2 degrees too warm.

| Evening run while C @ TKD. Tonights run was the last for my Garmin. I was on 7th east and the whole top display flipped right off the watch and the antenna separated. As sad as I am to no longer have a Garmin - I am really not sad to no longer have THAT Garmin. Can't wait to replace with the 310x. |

| Going to take a 12 today, not certain on exact mileage - ran up to T's & BST then regular b loop & home. Really pushed the b loop this time, felt good - trail was almost all dirt - almost felt like summer running except the 30 degree temps. |

| Start @ Draper park, 5 loops of Fort St & 13th east then one Draper Days 5k. As one of my goals for 2011 is to run a 27 (at least) mile run each month, today was my last chance to make good on the goal for at least the first month. This run hurt. I have not physically pushed myself this far in a long time. I could talk about how overweight I am right now, etc but really I'm pleased with the run. It becomes so easy to stay in your comfort zone that I rarely find myself pushing this far on a training run. Only once in my life have I run over 27 miles in a training run on the road. Have done it a few times for ultra training but often in that terrain you wind up hiking certain sections. SO very happy also with my Garmin 310XT. I am so happy to finally have such a reliable GPS. Avg pace @ 8:45. 141/169 avg/max HR. | Add Comment |
